The Kingston Springs Gazette is launching a new community book club this summer, taking over the gathering previously hosted by Turnbull Provisions.
The first meeting will take place Sunday, June 28 at 5 p.m. at SKYKING Pizza. This month’s featured read is “The Unmaking of June Farrow” by Adrienne Young.
The evening will include themed drinks, a themed activity and group discussion centered around the novel.
Set in the fictional mountain town of Jasper, North Carolina, “The Unmaking of June Farrow” follows June Farrow, a woman haunted by a mysterious family curse tied to the women in her bloodline. After the death of her grandmother, June uncovers clues surrounding her mother’s disappearance and begins experiencing strange visions, eventually leading her through a mysterious door that unravels generations of family secrets, love and time itself.
Organizers said the new book club is intended to create another opportunity for community members to gather, connect and discuss stories in a relaxed setting downtown.
