Kingston Springs' Art in the Park returns Oct. 3 with artists, music and family fun

The Town of Kingston Springs will welcome thousands of visitors back to Burns Park on Saturday, Oct. 3, for its annual Art in the Park festival, a fall tradition that has grown into one of the community's signature events.

The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature more than 70 fine art and craft vendors, live music, food trucks, baked goods, a kid zone and the annual art exhibit and competition.

"The town has hosted this event on the first Saturday in October for over 20 years and it keeps getting bigger and better," City Manager John Lawless said. "The event hosts over 70 fine art and craft vendors, live music, baked goods, food trucks, kid zone, and an art exhibit and competition, and draws upwards of 2,000 visitors throughout the day."

Admission is free, and there is no charge for vendors to participate. The deadline to apply for booth space is Sept. 18. 

Hosted by the Kingston Springs Parks Department, Art in the Park has become a showcase for local artists, makers and musicians while providing residents an opportunity to spend the day exploring handmade goods, supporting small businesses and enjoying the community atmosphere.

The event's juried art competition, presented in partnership with the Art League of Cheatham County, will once again invite artists to compete in categories including painting, photography, drawing and sculpture or mixed media. Winning entries will be recognized during the festival. The deadline to submit your artwork is September 18. 

Art in the Park follows another of the town's marquee fall traditions, the 9th annual Dinner on Main fundraiser on Sept. 20, helping kick off a busy season of community events in Kingston Springs.
