Harpeth Middle School’s (HMS) basketball season tipped off Thursday night with an exciting face-off against Fairview Middle School. The Lady Indians took the court with a relatively young team, with few returning starters from last year. On the other hand, the HMS boys’ team came out strong, displaying an impressive performance in their opening game.

The Lady Indians, under the guidance of Coach Devin Allen, faced a tough challenge against the Lady Falcons. Despite their youthful roster, the team displayed determination and resilience. However, they came up short against the talented Lady Falcons, losing 25-16. This might not have been the ideal start, but the young Lady Indians showed promise and potential for growth throughout the season.

Coach Allen and the Lady Indians had the unwavering support of the Harpeth High School Head Coach Katie Pacifici, along with several members of the HHS Lady Indians Basketball Team. Their presence at the game signified the strong bond and collaboration between the middle and high school basketball programs, offering valuable mentorship and support to the younger Lady Indians.

In the spirit of school pride and unity, the HMS pep band and cheerleaders were out in full force to support the teams. The energy filled the gym and kept the crowd engaged, adding a layer of enthusiasm to the atmosphere.

The HMS boys basketball team showcased their potential as they came out strong and determined. The game was fast-paced and filled with thrilling moments as the Indians outperformed the Falcons. The final score stood at 38-23 in favor of the Indians. The victory was a testament to the hard work and dedication put in by the team during their preparations for the season.

Several Indians made contributions to the scoreboard, displaying a well-rounded and collaborative effort from the entire team. This balanced approach will undoubtedly be a key strength for the boys’ team as they progress this season.

As the HMS basketball season gets underway, there is a sense of anticipation and optimism in the air. While the Lady Indians faced a tough opening night, the experience gained will help them grow and develop into a formidable team. The boys’ team, with their strong start, sets a promising tone for the season ahead. With the support of dedicated coaches and the mentorship of the high school program, both teams are looking forward to a successful and memorable season on the court. The community is excited to rally behind the HMS Indians as they work hard to achieve their goals and aspirations in the coming months.
