KSES, PEFAMS to open pre-K, kindergarten registration

Kindergarten registration for the 2024-2025 school year at Kingston Springs Elementary School (KSES) and Pegram Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School (PEFAMS) will begin the week of March 25.


To be eligible to start kindergarten, children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 15.


The district is hosting pre-K and kindergarten Round-Up Nights at both KSES and PEFAMS for families to register, meet the staff and tour the school.

  • Kingston Springs Elementary School: April 9, 5-7 p.m.; and 

  • Pegram Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School: April 11, 5-6 p.m.


The schools will also hold kindergarten registration during the day. 


Kindergarten registration packets – offered both in English and Spanish – are available here. The documents required for kindergarten registration are:

  • Proof of child’s age: birth certificate, passport, tax return, medical document, etc.;

  • Immunization record/proof of physical exam: must be up-to-date on official state of Tennessee form;

  • Three current proofs of residence: driver’s license, utility bills, rent/mortgage agreement, voter registration, bank statement, auto registration, etc.; and

  • Custody/Guardianship paper signed by a judge – only if the child is not living with both biological parents.


Pre-K is open to students who turn 4 on or before Aug. 15, and whose family is income eligible (based on the U.S. Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines). 


The district offers pre-K at PEFAMS and will start accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year on April 8. 


The required documents needed for pre-K registration are:

  • Proof of income: paycheck stubs, tax documents;

  • Proof a child’s age: birth certificate, passport, tax return, medical record;

  • Up-to-date immunization record – must be on official state of Tennessee form;

  • Up-to-date proof of a physical exam – must be on official state of Tennessee form;

  • Three current proofs of residency: driver’s license, utility bills, rent/mortgage agreement, auto registration, etc.; and

  • Custody/guardianship papers signed by a judge – only if the child is not living with both biological parents.
