Plans are underway for the 13th Pink Out For Hope 5-k Booby Bolt and 1-mile Kids Fun Run on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Pleasant View Community Park.

Pink Out For Hope (POFH), Inc, a 501(c)3 charity will host the event, which is a yearly fundraiser for the purpose of assisting Cheatham County residents who are undergoing treatment for breast cancer. In addition to assisting patients, this event helps POFH bring awareness to breast cancer and the importance of early detection and support breast cancer research.

It’s not too late to donate or be a sponsor for this year's event. Email the committee at info@pinkoutforhope.org.

A special breast cancer survivor tent will be set up at the park. Survivors can gather before the race to prepare for the “Survivor Walk,” which celebrates their years of surviving after their diagnosis.

The 5k will be professionally timed and placement medals will be awarded for several age categories along with a top finisher male and female award. Walkers and runners of all ages can now register online at runsignup.com. Those who register by Sept. 15 will get an event t-shirt. All participants will receive a medal. Breast cancer survivors who register as a survivor will receive a t-shirt designating them as a survivor.

The 1-mile Kids Fun Run (ages 12 and under) will start at 8 a.m. Each child registered before race day will receive a medal and swag bag. Registration is $20 per child and no Fun Run registrations will be allowed on race day.

The Booby Bolt 5k will begin at 8:30 a.m. (Survivors’ Recognition Walk at 8:15 a.m.). The registration fee is $40 per person ($35 per person for a team of eight or more participants - no team registration on race day). Individual registration on race day ($50 per person) begins at 7:30 a.m. Anyone who registers by Sept. 15 will be guaranteed an event t-shirt.

If you want to support the cause, but can’t attend the race, you can be a “Booby Buddy” by registering online.
