When Lisa Taylor was thrown from a horse in February 2025 and suffered a compression fracture in her spine, she said traditional treatment options felt limited. Doctors recommended pain management and rest — but Taylor wanted something that could help her body recover more naturally.

That search led her to PEMF therapy.

Now, the registered nurse and equestrian behind PEMF Nashville is bringing the therapy to Kingston Springs this summer through mobile in-home appointments and weekend sessions at The Land.

“PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic fields,” Taylor said. “It’s non-invasive, drug-free, and uses low-frequency electromagnetic waves to stimulate the cells. It’s kind of like a battery charger for your cells.”

Taylor, 36, moved to Middle Tennessee from upstate New York in 2021 and has spent more than a decade working as a nurse. While she said she valued her experience in hospitals, she found herself increasingly drawn toward holistic wellness approaches.

“I’ve always been passionate about alternative medicine and helping people feel their best through natural healing approaches,” she said.

According to Taylor, PEMF therapy works by helping cells function more efficiently, boosting circulation and supporting the body’s natural recovery processes. The PEMF machine is a comfortable chair that you sit or lay down on.

Clients seek sessions for concerns ranging from chronic and acute discomfort, fatigue, poor sleep and inflammation to athletic recovery, nervous system support, relaxation and whole-body wellness.

Taylor first used PEMF therapy herself after her riding accident.

“I used the machine for two weeks, and I pretty much went back to work,” she said. “I really attribute a lot of that recovery to the machine.”

Though PEMF therapy has become increasingly common in chiropractic and equestrian circles, Taylor said many people still haven’t heard of it. That’s part of why she wanted to begin offering introductory sessions at The Land.

Taylor currently offers 20-minute “reset” sessions for $30 on weekends, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., through July. The shorter sessions provide an accessible option for clients looking for quick relaxation, recovery and wellness support.

“People can actually feel it working,” she said. “It gives them a chance to feel the relief afterward and see if it’s a good fit.”

Taylor said most clients notice benefits after a single session, while others choose ongoing sessions as part of their wellness routine with reported improvements including better sleep, relaxation, reduced discomfort and improved mobility.

One testimonial on her website reads: “I no longer have that pain in my neck. It really improved my sleep quality.”

Another testimonial reads: “I injured my back several months ago, I tried several things including physical therapy but nothing really helped. One session with Lisa and I felt the best I've felt in a long time.”

A separate client testimonial emphasizes the success after just one session: “As soon as I got up I could immediately feel the difference like my lower back finally released years of tension.”

Taylor is certified through Pulse PEMF, which she described as a medical-grade system. She also works with animals — particularly horses — using PEMF therapy in equestrian settings.
