Community donations provide Thanksgiving boxes for 130 South Cheatham families
More than 130 South Cheatham families received Thanksgiving food boxes this week thanks to a surge of community donations to The Ark’s food pantry program.
The Ark said contributions of boxed meals, canned goods and financial gifts came from Scouts, churches, schools, banks, local businesses and individual residents. The drive ensures families served by the pantry will have the ingredients for a full holiday meal.
In a statement on social media, the nonprofit said the support brought “gratefulness and hope and love” to families receiving the extra food.
The Ark distributes food year-round to Kingston Springs and Pegram households facing food insecurity and runs additional seasonal programs, including its annual Angel Tree gift initiative.
