Community meeting set on proposed Narrows resort development

A community meeting is scheduled for Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. at Bethany Hills Camp to discuss plans for a proposed $250 million resort development along the Harpeth River in Kingston Springs.

Nashville developer Michael Hayes, CEO of C.B. Ragland, will provide an overview of the project, which envisions a rural resort with 80 cottage-style units, 40 branded residences, two small restaurants, a spa, a farmstead and recreational amenities including hiking, biking, fishing, archery, horseback riding, kayaking and swimming.

The meeting will include stations staffed by the development team and consultants, including a traffic engineer, civil engineer and master plan architect, allowing attendees to ask one-on-one questions. SV Capital, development partners on the project, will also be present.

Hayes has described the project as inspired by Blackberry Farm in East Tennessee and Wildflower Farms in New York, emphasizing a focus on preservation, local community collaboration and luxury hospitality. The proposed 560-acre property, currently home to Bell's Reserve, would see development on roughly 100 acres.

The project has faced opposition from some community members concerned about traffic, environmental impacts and zoning issues. The property lies outside Cheatham County’s Planned Growth Area, and developing a planned unit development (PUD) on the site would require special approval.

Hayes has said he is in the early stages of planning and is seeking community input before moving forward. The Sept. 22 meeting is part of a series of discussions intended to gather local feedback on the potential development.
