Early voting is underway for the Dec. 2 special general election to fill Tennessee’s vacant 7th Congressional District seat.

Cheatham County voters can cast their ballots early at Pegram City Hall, 308 Highway 70, now through Tuesday, Nov. 26. Early voting hours are:

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Tuesday and Thursday: 12 p.m.–7 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m.–12 p.m.

Election officials are urging residents to vote early to avoid lines on Election Day, Tuesday, Dec. 2.

As of Nov. 15, 1,390 Cheatham County residents have already cast their ballots, according to the county election office.

The race to replace retiring Republican Rep. Mark Green features Republican Matt Van Epps, a Nashville businessman endorsed by President Donald Trump, and Democrat Aftyn Behn, a Nashville state representative who narrowly won her party’s nomination last month.

In the October primaries, Van Epps carried Cheatham County with 58% of the Republican vote, while Behn placed second locally behind Bo Mitchell, who drew 37% among Democrats in Cheatham County. Roughly 15% of the county’s registered voters participated in that primary.

On Election Day, Dec. 2, Kingston Springs residents will vote at Harpeth High School, and Pegram residents will vote at Pegram City Hall. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
