Food Truck Monday returns Sept. 15 after summer pause

Kingston Springs’ Food Truck Monday is set to return to the Main Street green space Sept. 15 after taking a planned break during the hotter summer months.
The town paused the community event in July and August this year in hopes of boosting attendance during the cooler evenings of September and October.
“Last year we noticed that attendance was down in July and August because it was still very hot in the late afternoon, early evenings,” City Manager John Lawless said earlier this summer. “This year we’re running Food Truck Mondays during May and June, skipping July and August because of the heat, and will then be extending the season, bringing food trucks back in September through the end of October.”
According to a town post on Facebook, the fall season will feature “some of your favorite and a few new food trucks, live music, and plenty of space to sit and enjoy the beautiful fall evenings with friends and family.” The event will run downtown from 5 to 8 p.m.
Food Truck Monday first launched in 2023 and features local food trucks set up every other Monday evening downtown. Town officials hope the seasonal adjustment will encourage more residents to enjoy the event.
The series will continue every other Monday through Oct. 27.
