KSES taps Howell as principal

Ben Howell, Harpeth High School (HHS) alumnus and former HHS teacher, has been tapped to serve as the Kingston Springs Elementary School (KSES) principal beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.
The Cheatham County School District (CCSD) announced in April that current KSES Principal Andrea Bledsoe was chosen by the district to serve as its new behavior coordinator. Bledsoe has served as the lead at KSES since 2023, initially replacing long-time Principal Lucas Winstead.
Howell graduated from HHS in 2008, and served as a teacher there for nine years beginning in 2013. During his time at HHS, Howell taught physical science, chemistry, physics, and agriculture. He was named the dean of students for Cheatham Middle School in 2022.
“It is an honor to lead KSES on its continued path of excellence. I look forward to building relationships with the students and families of this community I know and love,” Howell said in a May 5 statement.
Howell and his wife, Amanda, a special education assistant at HHS, reside in Pegram with their son, William, a student at KSES.
