The Ark launches 2025 Angel Tree program to brighten holidays for local children

The Ark Community Resource Center has kicked off its annual Angel Tree program, giving South Cheatham residents the opportunity to make Christmas brighter for local children in need.

This year’s program includes 119 “angels” — children ages 3 through 8th grade — who are part of families served by The Ark’s food pantry. Each angel tag lists a child’s age, clothing and shoe sizes, coat needs and interests, such as favorite shows or toys.

Community members can adopt an angel at Noah’s Closet, United Community Bank, Jollifrogs, River Springs Dental, or Kingston Springs Pharmacy.

“Each angel represents a local child in need — simply choose an angel, shop for their wishes, and return the gifts by Thursday, Dec. 4,” The Ark said in a release.

Participants are asked to return unwrapped gifts — with price tags removed — in a large black trash bag to the location where they picked up their angel or directly to The Ark. This helps volunteers organize the gifts discreetly before they are distributed to families.

An example from this year’s list includes a toddler interested in “toys from Bluey or Blippi, books or anything that makes noise.”

The Ark’s Angel Tree has been a South Cheatham holiday tradition for more than two decades, pairing local generosity with families who might otherwise go without during the season.
