What South Cheatham voters need to know before the Aug. 6 election
South Cheatham County voters will head to the polls next month to cast ballots in a number of local, state and federal races, including contested primaries for the Tennessee House of Representatives and local offices in Pegram.
South Cheatham County voters will head to the polls next month to cast ballots in a number of local, state and federal races, including contested primaries for the Tennessee House of Representatives and local offices in Pegram.
Early voting runs July 17 through Aug. 1, with Election Day set for Thursday, Aug. 6. The election includes the Cheatham County General Election and the Tennessee State and Federal Primary.
Below is a look at what voters in Kingston Springs and Pegram can expect to see on their ballots.
Kingston Springs (County Commission District 6)
Voters living in Kingston Springs and the surrounding District 6 area will cast ballots in the following races:
- Cheatham County Commission – District 6
- Republican: Jimmy Hedgepath, Incumbent
- Republican: Clint Biggers
- Democrat: Jan Morrison
- Tennessee House District 78
- Tennessee Senate District 23
- Republican: Kerry Roberts, Incumbent
- U.S. House of Representatives – District 7
- Republican incumbent Matt Van Epps is the only Republican running for this seat. Democrats will face off in the primary on Aug. 6, including Pegram resident Josh Sales.
- Governor
- The Republican primary for governor is one to watch in Tennessee, as our state Senator Marsha Blackburn fights for a spot on the Nov. 3 ballot.
- U.S. Senate
- Republican incumbent Bill Hagerty is the only Republican running for this seat. Democrats will face off in the primary on Aug. 6.

Pegram (County Commission District 5)
Pegram voters will have several additional local races on their ballots, including municipal offices.
- Town of Pegram Board of Mayor and Aldermen (Vote for Two)
- Cheatham County Commission – District 5
- Republican: Eugene Evans, Incumbent
- Republican: Jody Vann
- Independent: Diana Pike-Lovell, Incumbent
- Cheatham County School Board – District 5
In addition to those local races, Pegram voters will also cast ballots in:
- Tennessee House District 78
- Tennessee Senate District 23

- U.S. House of Representatives – District 7
